I was never bored with Thys' programs he did for me. Thys always had a great attitude, inspired me and really listened to what I wanted. To start off, I told him what my goal was (to tone and maintain my weight). He asked all the right questions. If I wanted something more conservative, he took that into consideration, but I was actually willing to try anything. I get bored easily so anything new for me was great. I may have looked crazy doing some of the exercises he came up with but they WORKED! Not only did he come up with weight programs for me but he also came up with cardio programs. If I ended up not liking an exercise in the program or something wasn't working for me he tweaked until I was happy. Even when I wanted to train for something, he had that plan in hand in no time. Balance was my weakness and I can now say I can do some of the harder exercises that relate to balance. My body toning, strength and endurance has improved significantly and I continue to use Thys' programs to help maintain my health and fitness. Now if only I would listen to him and take the challenge to do a triathlon.

I have always been involved in athletics growing up, but never had any sort of experience with a professional trainer. After moving down to Richmond, I signed up for a 10K road race. At this point, I was flat out of shape and could stand to lose a few pounds. Thys created a custom program that fit my short term goals of competing in the 10K race and long term goals of getting back into great shape. Since that time, Thys has modified my routine to fit my goals and completely re-shaped my approach to fitness. The programs are extremely effective and enjoyable at the same time. My time in the gym is very efficient and focused. Even my golf handicap is down 8 strokes since I started training with Thys. You couldn't ask for a more knowledgeable and motivational coach than Thys Wind.

Thys took the intimidation out of my first triathlon. He took me from a mediocre 30 year-old recreational runner to a much more balanced athlete. I completed two sprints and one Olympic distance race in my first year, which I never imagined was possible! Thys was more than a fitness instructor, he actually inspired me to challenge myself to complete this thing. He convinced me that I had the capability to do it. The training was challenging, but not impossible. Now I'm in the best shape of my life and Thys helped me get here. Next stop, Half Ironman?
