WindSpeed has Turnkey Training Solutions for all running and triathlon race distances. Each race type and distance is available in three formats: Finish, Compete, and Place. The amount of training volume and degree of training intensity for these three formats increases accordingly.

Run 5k (6-week Turnkey Training Solution)

This race can turn just about anyone into a runner! With a total distance of 3.1 miles, you too can train for this type of race. Some choose to run this distance at top speed while others choose to walk this distance with friends, as is often the case with 5k races organized to raise funds for charities and/or special causes. Finishing times can vary from 15:00-45:00.

Run 8k/10k (8-week Turnkey Training Solution)

These are both race distances that some consider to be a sprint, while others consider them to be more of an endurance event. At a length of 4.9/6.2 miles, this race begins to test your aerobic and/or anaerobic capacity and surely separates the prepared from the ill-prepared. If you want to be surrounded by others who share your passion for running, you can easily find a local 8k/10k that thousands of your fellow runners register for. Finishing times can vary from 25:00-1:30:00.

Run 10 miles/15k (10-week Turnkey Training Solution)

This race requires a greater training commitment than shorter races, as it starts to place even more demands on your endurance capabilities. Running 10 or 9.3 miles is an exhilarating experience sure to make you feel good about the kind of shape you’re in. Finishing times can vary from 55:00-1:45:00.

Run Half Marathon (12-week Turnkey Training Solution)

While some might think this race is only half as difficult as a full marathon, many veteran runners would disagree. This distance begins to test not only the body’s cardiovascular and muscular endurance capabilities, but your mental stamina as well. Many use this 13.1-mile race as a stepping stone towards realizing the ultimate dream: finishing a marathon! Finishing times vary from 1:10:00-2:30:00.

Run Marathon (16-week Turnkey Training Solution)

Finishing this race distance gives you unqualified bragging rights for life. While training for and running this 26.2-mile race is a serious undertaking, thousands of runners from all walks of life successfully attain this goal every year. Nearly every big city in America hosts a marathon now, either during the spring or in the fall. Whether it’s your first or your 50th, running in a marathon never ceases to be a rush! Finishing times vary from 2:05:00 to 6:00:00.

Sprint Triathlon (8-week Turnkey Training Solution)

Tri-ing to get in great physical condition is a wonderful process. Many who register for this type of race have never competed at all, while others may come from a swimming, cycling, or running background. No matter. Training for and participating in this race is manageable for just about anyone. The swim usually takes place in a lake or river, although it sometimes takes place in a pool (staggered start). After the swim comes the bike, and then the run. A sprint covers the shortest distance of all triathlons, as it usually includes a half-mile swim, 5-15 mile bike leg, and a 1-3 mile run. Finishing times can vary from 1:00:00 to 2:15:00.

Olympic (International) Triathlon (12-week Turnkey Training Solution)

Once you’ve successfully completed a sprint distance triathlon, you are sure to enjoy the challenge of training for and competing in an Olympic distance triathlon. With this distance (the same as the actual Olympic Triathlon first held in the Sydney, Australia games of 2000) intelligent choices must be made in regards to pacing if you want to enjoy racing this distance and have an optimal outcome. The swim leg is approximately 1 mile (1500 meters), the bike leg is usually 18-25 miles, and the run leg is usually 5-7 miles. Finishing times can vary from 1:50:00-4:00:00.

Ironman 70.3 (16-week Turnkey Training Solution)

Also referred to as a half ironman, this race starts to really separate the higher-level triathletes from the recreational triathletes. It’s recommended that one have ample racing experience within the sport of triathlon before he/she commits to training for this type of event. Make no mistake, however, because the degree of commitment required to prepare for this race is directly proportional to the degree of satisfaction one gets when crossing the finish line. The distance of each legs of this race never changes. Every Ironman 70.3 requires a 1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike, and a 13.1 mile run. Finishing times can vary from 3:55:00-7:30:00.

Ironman (24-week Turnkey Training Solution)

If you have the time, energy, race experience, talent, money, and willingness to make the necessary sacrifices to train for and compete in the world’s ultimate endurance event, then you are on your way to becoming an Ironman! This race first came into the public eye in February of 1982 when ABC’s “Wide World of Sports” covered the fifth Hawaii Ironman. It was at the end of this race that millions of viewers saw Julie Moss, a world-class triathlete, fall apart and literally crawl across the finish line to take second place. Since then, many more Ironman races have been organized all over the world and participation in these races is no longer limited to the elite athletes of the world. More and more “everyday athletes” like yourself are realizing the dream of being able to swim 2.4 miles, bike 112 miles, and then run 26.2 miles nonstop in one day!
